Notice of Vacancies & Election 2024
Thursday, July 11, 2024Notice is hereby given that an election will be held on Thursday 22nd August 2024. Voting will commence at 1800 hours and conclude at 1945 hours to fill the following positions:
- COMMODORE
- VICE COMMODORE
- REAR COMMODORE SAILING
- REAR COMMODORE MOORING AND STORAGE
- HONORARY SECRETARY
- HONORARY TREASURER
- CENTREBOARD CAPTAIN
- KEELBOAT CAPTAIN
- POWER YACHT CAPTAIN
- COMMITTEE MEMBERS (4)
Nominations shall be in writing and signed by two financial Senior, Country or Life Members of the Club as Proposer and Seconder respectively and bear an acceptance of such nomination signed by the Candidate.
Clause 24 (n) of our Club Constitution is set out below: –
- ELECTION OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND OTHERS
(n) No member of the Club, whether a candidate for election or not, shall directly or indirectly, by letter, circular or any other writing, or by advertisement, canvas for votes for any candidates for election to any of the office of Commodore, Vice Commodore, Rear Commodores (2), Executive Committee Secretary, Treasurer, Captains (3) or Committee Members (4) PROVIDED THAT HOWEVER the Executive Committee may after the close of nominations publish or cause to be published in the Club Newsletter issued by the Club, a notice containing such particulars of the candidates for election as the Executive Committee may from time to time determine and include the full names of the candidates and the respective positions held by them in the Club and a record of the service of each candidate in the Club.
Nominations will open on Wednesday 10th July and close at 1700 hours on Thursday, 25th July 2024.
No un-financial Member shall be eligible for Office or be permitted to nominate any Office Bearer or to vote at any election.
Absentee votes addressed to the Club Manager Peter Halliday will be accepted from eligible Members from Wednesday 7th August until 1700 hours on Wednesday 21st August 2024.
