Boatshed Upgrade Complete Ahead of the New Centreboard Sailing Season

Wednesday, August 19, 2026

It’s fantastic to see our Boatshed Upgrade project completed just in time for the start of the new Centreboard sailing season.

The upgrade has delivered a refreshed and more functional space for our sailors, coaches and volunteers, helping ensure our Centreboard programs have the facilities they need for another great season on the water.

The project included a range of improvements to the Boatshed, creating a cleaner, more organised and practical environment for our sailing community. These upgrades will support the ongoing growth of our Centreboard programs and provide a better space for sailors as they prepare for training and racing.

Supported by PlayOn WA

We’re proud that this project was supported by the WA Government through the PlayOn WA
initiative, which is helping deliver community sporting infrastructure across Western Australia.
The funding has helped us make important improvements to our facilities and continue investing in the future of sailing at East Fremantle Yacht Club.

This project is part of the WA Government’s PlayOn WA, an exciting initiative to deliver 2,030 community infrastructure items across WA by 2030. We would like to thank the WA Government for its support of this project and everyone who contributed to bringing the Boatshed Upgrade to completion.

Ready for a New Sailing Season

The completed upgrade comes at a great time, with the Centreboard sailing season now underway. With the Boatshed ready to go, our fleet, facilities and training spaces are all set to welcome sailors back on the water. We’re looking forward to seeing the space put to good use throughout the season and continuing to build on our Centreboard sailing programs.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible. We’re excited to see the Boatshed become an even more useful part of our sailing operations for years to come.

A Big Thank You to Our Volunteers

Projects like this don’t happen without the time, effort and skills of our members. We would like to sincerely thank the EFYC volunteers who generously gave their time to help bring this project to completion.

A huge thank you to:
