On Thursday evening, East Fremantle Yacht Club came together for our annual Medal Night, celebrating the achievements, dedication and contribution of our members throughout the 2025–26 sailing season.
It was a wonderful evening spent recognising our sailors, celebrating another successful season on the water and, most importantly, bringing our club community together.
Celebrating Long-Standing Members
One of the highlights of the evening was recognising members who have reached significant membership milestones with East Fremantle Yacht Club. This year, we celebrated members reaching 20, 30, 40, 50 and an incredible 60 years of membership, as well as presenting Service Medals to recognise outstanding contributions to the Club.
A very special congratulations to Graeme Munro, who reached an extraordinary 60 years of membership with EFYC.

We also recognised 50 years of membership for Clifton Watkins, Brian Renfrey and Paul Cliff.
These milestones represent so much more than years on a membership record. They reflect decades of friendships, sailing, racing, volunteering, social occasions and countless memories made around the Club and on the water.
It’s a privilege to have members who have been part of the East Fremantle Yacht Club story for generations.

Celebrating the 2025–26 Sailing Season
Medal Night was also an opportunity to recognise the sailors who competed throughout the season and celebrate their achievements across our various fleets and sailing programs. From keelboats and centreboards to our junior sailors and developing crews, the 2025–26 season brought plenty of competition, learning, challenges and memorable days on the Swan River.
Congratulations to everyone who received a sailing medal this year, and to all our members who got out on the water and took part throughout the season.
We also extend our congratulations to those recognised with Service Medals for their contribution to the Club.
A huge thank you goes to our coaches, race officials, volunteers and supporters who dedicate their time throughout the season to making our sailing programs and events possible.
Medal Night is a great reminder that East Fremantle Yacht Club is about more than racing and results. It’s about the people, the friendships, the traditions and the shared experiences that keep our community strong.
