This past weekend, East Fremantle Yacht Club was proud to host the 2025 Women’s Keelboat State Championships, bringing together exceptional female sailors from yacht clubs across Perth for two days of spirited competition and camaraderie on the Swan River.
⛵ The Racing
Racing took place over two sessions, with the first getting underway Saturday afternoon at 4pm, right in front of EFYC—offering a fantastic view for spectators and members alike. Despite a tricky forecast, four races were completed on Saturday. Sunday morning brought two more races before the wind dropped off, bringing the event to a close earlier than expected.
It was particularly impressive to see both the East Fremantle Yacht Club and South of Perth Yacht Club teams jump into action with very little prep time, having only their first sail together late Saturday morning.
